Hello Students and Parents,
This is my first official post of this school year. We have all been so busy getting used to our schedules and new routines. We have all done a super job adjusting to third grade.
This week in multiplication, we will be working on the multiples of 2. Study each night for your test on Friday. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday we will be having Mad Minute quizzes just to see how well we know them. Friday will be the one that counts for the Grade Book so study, study, study!! You will want your name to be on the 100 Percent Club hanging outside my classroom.
Each night you will have homework. I do have an example on the left hand side. There are chances that mistakes will be made. If there is a mistake, I will try to point it out to the students during our homework time of class. Please don't spend all night trying to find an answer. If it is causing too much problem, circle it and we will go over it the next day in class. I do not want you spending hours and hours looking up a math problem!!!
Last week we talked about place value. We worked on standard form, expanded form, and we worked on word form. This week, we are using the skills we learned last week to help us with the skills for this week. One of our skills is comparing numbers. We will also be talking about ordering numbers from least to greatest, or greatest to least.
Please feel free to email me at scollins@dcbe.org if you have any questions.
