Welcome students, parents, and colleagues. Thank you for visiting my blog. I have designed this site to keep you informed about what is going on in our 3rd grade world. I update the site often, so make sure that you check back often.
We will be studying and working on many new and exciting things this year. Third grade is a year of transition from the development of skills to the development of independence. It is a time for students to begin to assume responsibility for their education and become life-long learners.
Parents and students are encouraged to use this blog as a source of classroom information and remediation. On the right side, I have a link to a whole page of educational games and activities students can use on their own time for practice and fun. If parents don't have a Google account, students and parents can use the comment box anyway by typing their name, their comment, and clicking on anonymous in the drop down box. Please remember that this blog is for everyone, comments should be appropriate. Parents can sign up to receive any NEW blogs by email, simply fill out the email request at the top right, and each time I place a new announcement or spelling words/homework, it will be automatically emailed to you.
If you need to see me please schedule an appointment so I can give you my full attention. You can reach me at: scollins@dcbe.org. You can call the school at 740.5837, but I can't promise to always call back quickly. Email is quick, I can check and reply anyway and let you know a good time to meet or answer a simple question.
